Sandra Lou Murphy, 78, and longtime resident of the Manassas area, passed away December 27, 2020 at her home after a long illness.

Born January 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Cornwell and Helena Williams Cornwell. On June 6, 1974 in Fairfax, VA, she married Ralph Eugene Murphy, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 25th, 2012.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include four children all of Manassas; Maurice Moreno; Penny Sperry and her husband Robert; Ralph Murphy, Jr.; Ora Murphy; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dallas Slemp officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the charity of your choice.
