Obituary for Sharon Fairhurst

Our beloved mother, Sharon Kay Fairhurst has gone to be with the presence of our Lord on December 24, 2020. She was born on January 9, 1949 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Sharon is survived by two daughters, Teri and Jennifer; a sister, Nancy; son in laws, Darrell and Richard, and her 3 grandchildren, Hunter, Kat, and Joseph. She was a model of strength, determination, and perseverance as she battled cancer; she endured with such courage and faith in God. She was so precious and beautiful and we will miss her dearly.

She was very active within her community and work life; she was so beautiful, vibrant, and loved to embrace each day with family, friends, co-workers. She enjoyed serving others and sharing special moments with them. She traveled all over the world and was thankful to be able to see new places and meet new friends. She had so many friends and cherished each one. Her unending enjoyment for gardening will remind us to plant some flora in her honor.

She would welcome donations to the Rylandstrong.org foundation for adolescents battling cancer; a cause she would have endured tirelessly. In lieu of flowers, it would be wonderful to give to this cancer fighting cause. We are most grateful to the Capital Caring Adler Center / Van Metre Campus in Loudoun County for the excellent care they gave our precious mom, in a heavenly setting.
