Sidney “Sid” Shulins passed away at his home in Haymarket, Virginia on February 10, 2022 at age 89. Sid was a devoted husband to Gina Jackson, a proud and adoring father to Paul Shulins of Arizona and Jody Scanlon of Colorado, a wonderful stepfather to Cindy Tewksbury of Maryland, and a loving grandfather to Jesse Shulins and Jackson Tewksbury. He is also survived by his brother, Arnold Shulins of Claremont, New Hampshire and his nieces, Debra and Nancy Shulins.

Sid was born and raised in Claremont, New Hampshire. After graduating from Brown University, he served as a carrier pilot in the United States Navy. He later attended Harvard Business School and worked in publishing and advertising, including with the U.S. Postal Service. With the Postal Service, Sid rose to be the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Postmaster General, responsible for the Service’s advertising and market research divisions.

Sid was a passionate golfer, happily playing 27 holes well into his 80s, and skier. He lived life on his own terms and always with a warm sense of humor and keen wit.

An interment ceremony will be held at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, D.C. at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Kidney Fund or Capital Caring Health.
