Obituary for Stephen David Wade
Stephen “Steve” David Wade was born on January 18, 1946, to the union of David Edward and Mary Elizabeth Wade in Warrenton, VA.
He was a lifelong resident of Catlett, VA where he served the community as a member of Zoar Baptist Church and the Catlett Volunteer Fire Department. Steve spent his career as a firefighter at Vint Hill Farms Station and continued his career there until it’s closure.
Steve departed this life on Monday, May 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents David Edward and Mary Elizabeth Wade, wife, Francis Diane Wade, daughter, Lisa Faye Wade, grandson Aiden Joseph Wade and great-granddaughter Jemma Grey Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister Joyce Moore and her husband, Lonnie Moore, Catlett, VA; children April Johnson and her husband, Raymond Johnson, Jr, Catlett, VA, David Wade, Newport News, VA, and Joseph Wade, Manassas, VA; five grandchildren - Mark Scott, Jr., Cody Scott and his wife Brooke Scott, Alexus Johnson, Charles Johnson and Cayla Wade; six step-children, Cherise Rife, Rachel Johnson, Raymond Johnson III, Anthony Johnson, John Stallsworth and Isaiah Hogan; two great-grandchildren Jaxon and Jameson Scott; and one step great-grand daughter, Alivia Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2022, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will immediately follow at Catlett Methodist Cemetery, 3202 Catlett School Road, Catlett, Virginia.
