Obituary for Stephen Andrew Wilson
Stephen A. Wilson, “Steve”, 71, of Gainesville, VA, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 17th. He leaves many who love and adore him, including his wife of 41 years, Nancy, as well as daughter Lisa Adams and son Diron Adams.
Steve grew up in Arlington, VA, the oldest of two sons and was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Patricia Wilson, and brother John Wilson.
He attended college at Virginia Tech, completing an associate degree, and went on to have a long, fulfilling career at Ferguson Enterprises (1976), where he was well-loved and respected. He retired from Ferguson in 2018.
Steve was athletic and active, playing such sports as softball, volleyball, bowling, and golf. He enjoyed boating with his family in earlier years, being outdoors, and long rides through the mountain countryside. He was very engaged in his golfing community at Heritage Hunt, organizing tournaments, even making a hole in one at one point.
Steve was the kind of person everyone liked and respected. He was incredibly honorable, personable, and generous. He is and will continue to be, sorely missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Steve’s friends and family on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00am at the Marsh Mansion in Heritage Hunt, Gainesville, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
