Obituary for Tommy Lee Glasper

Tommy Lee Glasper, 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Manassas, Virginia.

Born on May 21, 1945, in Georgia, he was the son of the late Willie Cunningham and Mary Glasper.
Tommy served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years and was a Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt). He received many decorations and medals during his service to include a Good Conduct Medal (7th Awd), Vietnam Service Medal, NUC w/1* RVN Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, RVN Gallantry Cross w/ Palm & Frame and SSDR w/1*.

Tommy received his Associates degree in Arts from Los Angeles City College and his Bachelor degree of Professional Studies as well as a Certificate in Judo from Barry University. He was also the recipient of a Certificate of Appreciation from US Citizenship and Immigration Services as well as a Special Achievement award from the US Dept. of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service. More awards include an Educator award from Dade County Public Schools, and Appreciation awards from both the Dept. of Justice for Krome Detention Center and Immigration Services, Washington Field Office.

Aside from his many achievements, Tommy adored his family. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Glasper and their daughter, Tamme Glasper. Also surviving are his 3 sisters, Christal (Glasper) McGriff, Beverly Cunningham and Arlene Cunningham as well as his 3 brothers, Randolph Cunningham, Jonathan Cunningham, and Anthony Cunningham.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A memorial service with military honors will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be private and at a later date.
