Born July 8, 1966, in El Paso, TX, he was the son of the late Dr. Michael G. Coppa, and Carol Ann Turnbull Linton, who survives.

Bill was a graduate of Osbourn High School, class of ‘84, and would go on to receive the Enrolled Agent Credential which is a nationally recognized certification offered by the IRS for tax professionals. He would use this certification to start his own tax and financial advisory firm, William Coppa, E.A., and work as a Real Estate Agent with Pearson Smith Realty, where he would help numerous people in need of tax, financial, and real estate advice. He was an active member and current Lay Leader at St. Thomas United Methodist Church, where Bill was a man of deep abiding faith. He loved God, his family, his church family, and the countless others who he counseled and ministered to through work and the many groups he was actively involved in. He was always first in line to offer help to anyone who was in need and touched the lives of so many in his community.

Besides his father, Bill was preceded in death by one brother, Michael D. Coppa; and his adoptive father, Robert C. Linton. Survivors included his loving wife, Debra Kay Coppa; four children Alex Coppa; Robert Coppa; Elizabeth Posey and her husband David; Nick Lonigro and his wife Emily; and six grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ethan, Isabella, Ian, Issac, Sebastian.
