Obituary for William Eugene Linthicum, Jr.

William Eugene Linthicum, Jr., age 75, of Manassas, passed away peacefully at Novant Health UVA Haymarket Medical Center on February 27, 2019 at 9:35 a.m. surrounded by his family. William was born on July 15, 1943 to William and Nora Linthicum.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Hutchison of Manassas and Margaret Smith of Catharpin.
He was born in the same house where he lived for his seventy-five-year life. William was a jack of all trades and had many occupations over the course of his life, but what he was most well-known for was being the “Meat Man.” He owned and operated Linthicum Slaughtering for over 50 years. This nickname carried over into his hobbies including drag racing his race car also named “Meat Man” and it was the name of his boat. William was an avid outdoors man and fishing was his passion.

William is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Linthicum of Manassas; daughter Amy Farrant and her husband Nick Farrant of Ashburn; son Eric Linthicum of Manassas; son Scott Linthicum and his wife Crystal Hamrick of Manassas; seven grandchildren, Katie Linthicum, Rachel Linthicum, Jordan Embrey, Scott Linthicum Jr., Cortney Linthicum, Casey Embrey and Gracie Linthicum: a sister, Joyce Ingram of Manassas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be in Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109.

The family invites you to attend a celebration of William’s life following the interment at 4202 Ringwood Rd, Nokesville, VA 20181.
