Being a parent

Having worked with Dustin for so many years, my enduring memory is how he changed when he married and then became a father.  This brought us closer.  Before, he endured my stories of parenthood.  Later, he actually would provoke me to tell more tales of raising a teenager.  While he took a genuine interest in my son, and laughed heartily at his exploits, Dustin mostly wanted to talk about his little miracle Ella and learn to be the best father that he could be.  This caused him to open up in a way that he had never done before.  He would sit in my office for too long, but we didn't notice really the time passing.
