Our Story

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

The Geo. D. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, later known as the Baker Funeral Home was established over 125 years ago and is perhaps one of the oldest businesses in the Greater Manassas / Prince William County areas.

Established by George Dennis Baker in 1894, the business would operate not only as a funeral home, but as an ambulance service, helping families from Northern Virginia to Richmond.  After the death of George Baker in 1957, the  Funeral Home was passed on to his son J. Dennis Baker who operated the funeral home until his death in 1977.  The business was later sold to a corporation in 1997, but the Post family was proud to announce that on May 15, 2007, Michael and Gina Post purchased the business back from Service Corporation International, and can once again say the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center is family-owned and family-operated; caring for the community they call home.
As a full service funeral home, our facility has been designed to accommodate any and all religious customs. We provide traditional, on-site cremations and pre-arranged services. We also provide out of state and international funeral arrangements, assistance with insurance papers, veteran forms, social security, and any other paperwork.

"He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings…" - Buddha
