The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Claypool can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

mower trouble

The first time we met Dick and Elaine was in 1972 when we moved into our house in  Kings Park West. In the spring, when lawn mowing season started, we were sitting outside on our patio when we heard somebody "talking" loudy next door. We saw Dick standing beside his lawn mower, jumping up and down and pumping his arms and cussing at the lawn mower that would not start. We said something to him about it and he gave us the biggest grin ! ! !

We were so lucky to have Dick and Elaine as neighbors and friends, keeping in touch over the years, and visiting each other in North Carolina, Florida and Lake Anna after we all retired. We have so many happy memories, one is our families spending Christmas Eves together for many years while we  all lived in Northern Virginia.

Dick will be missed by lots of friends, former students and family.
