Richard Gene  Sapp
Rick Sapp, 68, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from colon cancer.

Rick served his country in the United States Navy and is a Vietnam veteran. He was a proud democrat and volunteered his time and efforts for both Obama campaigns. Rick enjoyed his time as an FPA television producer and director, and as a computer programmer for the Treasury Department. In his free time, Rick delighted in sailing and had a passion for animal rescue.

Rick was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Ana Sapp.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sapp, daughter Katii Sapp-Lessick and her husband Matt, son Nick Lilljegren, foster daughter Robin Phillips, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and brother Dale Sapp and his wife, Mary.

Family will receive friends on Saturday July 18, 2015 at St. Thomas United Methodist Church on Sudley Road at 2pm, with Rev. David Forrest presiding. Funeral services will begin at 3pm, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Colon Cancer Alliance at 1025 Vermont Ave., NW, Suite 1066, Washington, D.C.
