Helen Steadman White, 92, formerly of Haddonfield, New Jersey and Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away July 18, 2015 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Fair Oaks in Fairfax, Virginia.

Born July 5, 1923 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Noble and Nadine Steadman. She was married for 59 years to Arthur Webster White, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Steadman and Camille Ricks. Survivors include, sister Anne Feeney of Indianapolis, IN Marilyn Grizzard and her husband Thomas of Manassas, Stephen White and his wife Holly of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren, Jennifer Grizzard-Ekzarkhov (husband Dimitry), Joshua Grizzard (wife Carey), Mark White (wife Amanda), and Ryan White; and 6 great-grandchildren in order of age, Kyle, Wesley, Lydia, Ava, Mallory and Ainsley .

Helen White taught kindergarten in New Jersey for over 25 years before retiring with her husband to the Wilmington, North Carolina area. She was always active in the Methodist Church, and most recently was a member of the Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church in Porters Neck, North Carolina.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA where her ashes will be joined with those of her husband Arthur.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church, 10255 US-17 North, Scotts Hill, NC 28411.
