Hellen “Tommie” Brooks, 88, of Manassas Park, VA, died peacefully, Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Oak Springs of Warrenton with her devoted family by her side. Tommie was born May 5, 1927 in Fayetteville North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Joseph & Lillian Thompson. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She had an excellent green thumb, loved reading books, watching classic TV programs and had a sincere love for animals.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving daughter Teresa C. Wadel-DePugh of Manassas Park; her five adored grandchildren, Matthew L. Wadel and his wife Leslie, Daniel L. Wadel and his wife Chelsea, Allison L. DePugh, William H. DePugh III, and Aimee M. DePugh and three cherished great-grandchildren Kiersten, Skylar and Jameson. She is also survived by her nieces Jeanette Davis-Michaelson and Dee Fornoff and nephew Dan Fornoff. Hellen is also predeceased by her 12 siblings.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24th, 2015 at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Todd Tennant officiating.
