Mary Elizabeth Brown, 85 passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Sumerduck, VA. November 15, 2015. She was born in Albemarle County, VA on February 18, 1930 to Griffith and Alice Austin. She was a homemaker who always had food for anyone that came by the house, even at a moment’s notice, loved to work in her flower beds and vegetable gardens, loved her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to feed the squirrels, birds and deer so she could watch them out her windows.
Mary is survived by her son, Charles L. Brown, Jr. and his wife Judy, her daughter, Mary A. Wright and her husband, David, one sister, Alice Heatwole and her husband Galen, three brothers, Charles, William and his wife, Phyllis, and Griffith Austin, Jr. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Sherri Collett and her husband Russ, David Lee Wright, Jr. and his wife Lindy, Michael Wright and his companion, Cathy, Christopher Wright and his companion, Jennifer, Kimberly Hollins and her husband, Rob.
She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Madison Collett, Haley Collett, Michael Collett, Elijah Wright and Layla Hollins.
She is also survived by a special nephew, Tommy Austin. Her husband, Charles Brown predeceased her in 1999.
Thanks to the Hospice of Piedmont for all the wonderful care they gave our mother during her illness.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, November 20, 2015 at Stonewall Memory Gardens. 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA 20109.
