Michael Patrick  McFadden
Michael P. McFadden, 48, a self-employed software development consultant, died of renal cancer on May 19 at the Alder Center for Caring. He lived in Manassas, VA.
Mr. McFadden, who lived in the Washington DC area since 1970, was born in Charlotte, NC. He grew up in the Alexandria area, graduating from Mt. Vernon High School, Class of 1985. He continued his education at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University studying in computer science and business administration.
He began his career as a technical writer and graphics designer. As computers became pervasive in the mid- to late-90s, he moved into word processing and software development. For a period of time, he worked as an electrician. He continued his interests in computers as a programmer, trainer, systems analyst and project manager. In his spare time, he established his own disc-jockey company, Apollo Premier Entertainment, hosting weddings, corporate parties, and similar events. In the latter part of his career he became an independent software development consultant providing services to large and small businesses.
Mr. McFadden is survived by his father and step-mother, Robert and Dottie McFadden, of La Fayette, GA; his step-father, Donald Carr, of Nokesville, VA; his brother Kevin McFadden, of Purcellville, VA; his half-brother and half-sister, Jaime McFadden and Valerie Catlett, of La Fayette, GA; and several nieces and nephews
.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 28th, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating.
Interment will be in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.
