Mary Elizabeth Pruitt (née Bauer) died March 3, 2023, at the age of 89 in Bristow, VA. Mary was born in St. Louis, MO, to Mary Elizabeth Bauer (née Ridgeway) and Christian August Bauer. A graduate of East Tennessee State University, Mary married her college sweetheart, Charlie, and began their exciting life journey.
Mary was a retired Fairfax County elementary school teacher who specialized in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). She began her career teaching in Baltimore County and continued to teach as she and Charlie, who was in Foreign Service, moved around.

A wonderful loving mother and grandmother, Mary leaves behind her daughter, Linda-joy Elizabeth; son, Charles Michael and his wife, Cynthia; her three grandchildren, Robert Lucian Pruitt, John Charles Schottle and Claire Elizabeth Schottle; her siblings Genevieve, Gail, and Christian. Mary’s passing leaves a deep void in their lives.

Mrs. Pruitt will be placed next to her husband at National Memorial Park, in their mausoleum.

Services are currently private at this time for family and invite only to join.
