Arthur Eugene “Gene” Fitzgerald, 80, of Aldie, VA died March 16, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Arkansas City, KS, of Clarence & Ernestine Fitzgerald and raised by his great Aunt and Uncle Beulah and Lloyd Reed and his grandparents Leila and Otis Finch.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Linda, and two sons, Robert Eric and wife Rattikan (Nui) of Aldie, VA, and Gene Brian and wife Heather of Hoffman Estates, IL; Grandsons Camron, Brennan and Colin Fitzgerald; sister and brother-in-Law Sandy and Sydnor Carroll of Yorktown, VA; Sisters Sharon and Phil Jeffreys of Wichita, KS and Dorothy McCrory of Dallas, TX, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Eleanor Morgan.

He was a graduate of Kansas State University and a member of the Steel Ring Society. After meeting Linda in Richmond, VA, they married on October 27, 1973. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Church on the Rock. He enjoyed spending time reading and studying the Bible with Linda.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Church on the Rock, 14310 Sullyfield Circle, Suite 350, Chantilly, VA 20151. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Church on the Rock.
