Obituary for Anne E. Dries (Garman)

Anne E. Dries, on the morning of May 26, 2014, departed this life after 101 years. We will all miss her humor and spirit.

Born on February 16, 1913, in Middletown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Cora Garman. Mrs. Dries was a strong and independent woman of faith. She was a wonderful, loving Mother and Grandmother.

She is predeceased by her husband, Rev. John C Dries; one brother, Foster Garman; one sister, Ruth Fulmer; and one great-grandson, Steven Bell.

Mrs. Dries was founder of Christ Lutheran Nursery School, Wantagh N.Y. and Bethel Lutheran Nursery School in Manassas, Va.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Nancy Good of Bristow, VA; Lynda Strecker of Ridge, N.Y.; Sally Jones and husband Harry Jones of Granby, Ct; eleven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, May 31 at
2 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 3384 Island Rd Wantagh, N.Y. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
