Obituary for Betty Jean Marcum

Betty Jean Marcum, 73, of Manassas Park, died January 3, 2008 at the Gainesville Health and Rehab. Center after a long illness.

Born September 11, 1934 in Mt. Jackson, Virginia, she was the daughter of Eugene and Carrie Frye Coffman. Betty has been a resident of Manassas Park for the last nine years, and a member of both the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she taught vacation bible school, and the Victory Gospel Church in Manassas, where she was a custodian.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Ray Marcum and Jimmy Tom Marcum; five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one son, John W. Coffman of Manassas Park; one sister, Eleanor Meadows of West Virginia; and 5 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday January 7th, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. at the Victory Gospel Church, 9115 Weir Place, Manassas. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Victory Gospel Sanctuary with Pastor Kenneth Woods and Pastor James Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Manassas, Virginia

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the Victory Gospel Church, 9115 Weir Place, Manassas, VA 20110 or to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8216 Birch Street, Manassas, VA 20111.
