Obituary for Bobbie Jo Mullins (Mooney)

On January 19, 2022, Bobbie Jo Mullins, 83, passed away at her home in Manassas, Virginia where she lived for the past 56 years.

Born on March 22, 1938, in Dickenson County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Denver and Georgie Mooney.

Bobbie was raised and attended high school in Clintwood, Virginia. In 1965, she settled in Manassas where she raised her family and lived the remainder of her life. She worked for Northern Virginia Community College and retired in 2001 after 26 years of service.

She was a long-time member of Hatcher’s Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting clocks and antique sewing machines. She had a lifelong passion and deep love for animals. She was an avid reader and loved novels by author Stephen King. She was a talented seamstress and quilter then later became a master cross-stitcher. She has left behind many beautiful pieces for her family to cherish.

Besides her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her son, Terry D. Mullins and her siblings, Judy Miller, Phyllis Culbertson and Danny Mooney.

Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Valerie D. Pullman and her husband, Mark S. Pullman; her daughter in law, Paula J. Mullins; her sisters, Donna Tickle and Becky Scott; and her grandchildren Sarah S. Pullman, Ashley N. Pullman, Barbara E. Ditamore, Earl G. Ditamore, Jessica Dawn and Jazzmond Danielle. Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will take place in the spring.

Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to any local animal shelter.
