Obituary for Champlin Jackson Carney

Champlin Jackson Carney
In loving memory of Champlin Jackson Carney, September 11, 1953 - July 20, 2014. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Susan Carney, sons, Daxton and Austin Carney, daughter-in-law, Andrea Ponce, brother, J.E.B. Carney, and his beloved nephews and nieces, Jennings, Van, Lain, Scott, Tom, Kim, Doug, Jeff, Michael, and Carrie.

He was a fair, honest, and loving husband, father, companion and friend. His generosity knew no bounds, he gave himself completely to those he loved. An avid skier and enthusiast of the outdoors, he was never afraid to set out on an adventure and even on this last journey, he faced what lie ahead with dignity and courage. The family is thankful for all of the support we have received from friends, extended family, neighbors and care-givers over the last few years.

A memorial service will be held on August 7th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church, 114 West Boscawen St. Winchester, with a reception to immediately follow at the Winchester Country Club.

An informal gathering of friends and family to celebrate Champ's life is also planned for August 9th, 2:00pm, at 7 Rhododendron Lane, Castleton, Rappahannock County, Virginia 22716.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winchester SPCA (http://www.winchesterspca.org/donate) would be appreciated.
