Obituary for Charles Edwin McFarland

Charles Edwin  McFarland
Charles E. McFarland (Mac) age 84 passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2020 in Burke, Virginia.

Charles was born on December 4, 1935 in Hammond, Indiana. He is proceeded in death by his parents Francis and Evelyn McFarland and his Brother Tom McFarland.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary (Buchhardt) McFarland, his two sons, David Bentley (Kimberly) of Manassas, VA. And Timothy McFarland (Pam Oliver) of Tioga, North Dakota and his five Grandchildren, Nicole, Parker, Courtney, Kendall and Preston.

Charles grew up in Towson, Maryland and later moved to Monkton, Maryland. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1965. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from John Hopkins University in 1973. In 1979, he and Mary moved to Burke, Virginia to continue his successful career as a Real Estate Developer and Builder.

Charles was a member of the American Mensa Agency and was an Avid book reader. He enjoyed Scuba-diving, exercising, crossword puzzles and watching his Washington Redskins Football and Nationals Baseball Games. Mac was a season ticket owner of the Original Baltimore Colts. He also enjoyed Boxing. He loved Mary’s home cooked meals and especially his Friday nights with her enjoying his popcorn, Bushmills Irish Whiskey and a good cigar.

There will be no public visitation or service at this time. Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the charity of your choice.
