Obituary for Chryssoula Stephenson

Chryssoula Stephenson
Chryssoula was born in Greece in 1935. When she was 22 she made her way to Germany to work in the factories. She met the love of her life Michael Gellios in Germany. They got married and had one child. They came to the U.S. in 1968.

The marriage didn't last. She sacrificed so much to be close to her child. All of her brothers and sisters were in Europe. She stayed in the U.S. working part-time jobs at fast-food restaurants. She didn't want her child growing up thinking that she abandoned him.

She was the best mom and an awesome grandmother. She fell ill to dementia in 2016. The past few years she was a resident at Birmingham Green.

A big thank you to the nurses and staff at Birmingham Green, who took great care of Chryssoula.

May she forever rest in peace.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be in Midland Cemetery, Midland, VA.
