Obituary for Deanna Lee Gilbert (Johnston)

Deanna Lee  Gilbert (Johnston)
Deanna Lee Gilbert, 79, of Manassas, passed away October 25, 2021, at the UVA Prince William Medical Center.

Born March 31, 1942, in Riverside, California, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Dean Johnston and Geneva Belle White Johnston. On July 16, 1978, on the sailboat Woodwind, in Zephyr Cove, Lake Tahoe, NV, she married James G. Gilbert, who survives.

Deana received both a BA and MA in Psychology from Pepperdine University, and co-owned 3 custom seaside jewelry stores, a toy store, and a Rug Crafters store with her brother Jerry prior to leaving California. She always saw herself as a California girl, but lived in various states throughout her life, including Hawaii, New Jersey, Washington, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Texas. Deanna also enjoyed her time overseas living in France.

Deanna completely dedicated her life to having a wonderful home and family. She Loved family, cooking, needlework, Christmas, ice dancing and Jesus. She most recently partnered with Jim on the Gold Homes Team, 2002-2021, with RE/MAX, Samson, and now Keller-Williams.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jim; children Christopher M. Hoffman; Derek T Hoffman; Michael A.J. Gilbert; Angelica M.D. Gilbert; and one brother Jerry M. Heath.

Private graveside and interment services will be held at the convenience of the family in Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton, VA.
