Obituary for Duane Dee Slayton

Duane Dee  Slayton
Duane Dee Slayton, 42, of Locust Grove, Virginia passed away early Sunday morning on December 21, 2014. He passed on peacefully in his sleep.

Duane was born in Falls Church, Virginia, grew up in Manassas, Virginia, and later made his home in Locust Grove, Virginia. He owned and operated his business with his wife Julie.

Duane is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Slayton and his brother, Douglas Slayton.
Duane was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife Julie Brummett Slayton, his daughter Angela Gates Paz, his son Christopher Wade Turner Brummett and his daughter-in-law Sagen Jones Brummett. He is also survived by his two granddaughters Alicia Paz and Kaylee Huff. Additionally, Duane is survived by brother and sister-in-laws James and Rhonda Bowers, as well as Eddie and Tina Brummett. Duane also leaves behind his father Earnest Slayton, two brothers Donnie and Darren, two sisters Jennette and Patty, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Victory Gospel Church located at 9115 Weir Place Manassas, Virginia 20110, with a service beginning at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor James Bowers. Interment will follow at Buckhall Community Cemetery located at 10294-10342 Moore Drive Manassas, Virginia.

Memorial contributions and flowers can be sent to Victory Gospel Church, with contributions made to Julie Slayton c/o Linda Bowers.
