Obituary for Eleanor Virginia Engler

Eleanor Virginia Engler, 39, of Haymarket, VA., died after a long courageous battle with cancer, March 16, 2022, in her home. She was born May 25, 1982, in The Fauquier Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Michael Krebs and Patricia P. Krebs of Haymarket VA.

She is survived by husband Johnny Engler, daughter Ashley Lee Engler, mother, Patricia P. Wilbourn, stepfather Ed Wilbourn, mother-in-law Teddy Gardner, and father-in-law Larry Gardner.

Eleanor graduated from Stonewall High School in Manassas, VA in 2000 and obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Counseling from Longwood University. While attending Longwood, Eleanor belonged to Sigma Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi. She was hired after graduating by Prince William County Schools as a counselor at Osbourn Park High School where she worked for 10 years until her illness.

Eleanor and Johnny, living 1000 miles apart, met on an arranged (by Grandfathers) blind date March 18, 2009, chaperoned by Eleanor’s grandparents, parents, and aunt, imagine the questions. They were married 7 months later. After her marriage, Eleanor built her life around her faith, husband, daughter, and work.

She wanted to be a “Disney Princess and singer.” She became an avid reader like her mother, enjoyed family vacations, golfing with Johnny and nurturing Ashley to love Jesus and be the caring, loving, responsible and adorable young lady she is. (Job well done Eleanor)

The funeral services are private.
