Condolence: I worked with Erin and trained her to be a hostess at Tautog’s when she was barely 16 yrs old. Who knew someone so young would have stories to tell and wise words to share. She was witty and bold, yet she had such a big heart. I was blessed to know her then and admire those who continued to build a long lasting relationship with her. I cannot imagine the loss her family and friends are experiencing. I am thankful to have known her when I did. Praying for comfort for her family.

My love and prayers are with all of Erin's family...her strong and amazing mother...her faithful and supportive husband...her ever-loving brothers....her children, nieces and nephews...I trust that our loving Lord will comfort you during this time of heartache. Erin will now watch over us all from the heavenly kingdom and she will continue to shower us with love from above.

Condolence: I was one of Erin’s nurses during her chemotherapy treatments. She was such a wonderful woman and persevered through those treatments with such strength and grace. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to know her, but so very sorry for the struggle that she had to endure. She is at peace now and I’m sure her spirit will always remain with all her loved ones, especially her three beautiful children. She will be missed by many. Love to all of you, Nurse Kathy

Condolence: Erin was my daughters Language Arts teacher this year at TNS. My daughter IMMEDIATELY took to Mrs.Scanlon, thought of her as her “school mom”. She knew Mrs.Scanlon cared about her not just as a student, but as a person. One of the first weeks of school, she told me, while riding in the car, “now these teachers don’t even bother to look at you, they just yell AT you, except Mrs. Scanlon, she looks AT ME, she listens TO me, I feel like she really cares.” September 2021 was a crazy time for schools, teachers, and students, but Mrs. Scanlon made all the difference to my girl! I’m not exaggerating one bit, when I say, having Mrs. Scanlon 1st period was the only reason my girl wanted to go to school some days. She would set the tone of the day for my daughter, and it was always GOOD! I can not begin to imagine how much more of a blessing Erin was to her husband, kids, and family. My daughter is better for having known your Erin. Thank you for sharing her. May God bless and comfort each of you. May you continue to share who Erin was with everyone you meet. With my deepest sympathies,
Melissa Reedy

Condolence: Erin taught with me at Mercer Middle School. She would often invite us all over to her house on a Friday afternoon to unwind from the week. She then taught with my daughter at the Nokesville School. I am very saddened by the news of her passing. I know she loved her husband and 3 kids very much and I’m sure the idea of leaving them behind was her biggest battle. Please know that my prayers are with you all. Linda Hough
