Obituary for Hallam O'Brien Harrison

Hallam O’Brien Harrison, 55, of Fairfax passed away on January 13 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Born in Barbados, West Indies in 1960, he immigrated to the United States in 1977. He was the loving father of Christalle Phillips Moat (Daren), Angel Phillips Vo (Tommy), Jordanna Phillips and Ishmael Harrison all whom he shared with Kendra Phillips. He had four grandchildren, Jaydon Aloumouati (age 9), Neveah Phillips Vo (age 5), Myles Moat (age 4) and Josiah Phillips (age 3). Hal became a die-hard fan of the Washington Redskins and loved to spend time with family while watching NASCAR racing. As a classical automobile painter, race cars were his passion.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Hallam is survived by his mother, Isalene Harrison; his step-mother, Stella Ashby; his seven siblings, Suzetta “Sue” Harrision, Alfred “Andy” Ashby (Patricia), Nadine Ashby Autry (Leon), Lorraine Ashby Bailor (Plummer), Elenor Ashby April, Gracelyn Ashby McDermott (Tim) and Mervin Giles (Candice); his uncles, Harold Ashby, Mervin Ashby, Wheatford Ashby; and, his aunts, Beryl Ashby and Retty Mahon. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that call him “Uncle Al.”
He is preceded in death by his father, Athelbert O’Brien Ashby; his sister Patricia Harrison; and, his Aunt Sheila Cummins.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 22nd from 12-2 pm at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA. A funeral service will begin at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
