Obituary for Jean Isabelle Lee
Jean I. Lee, 89, died 7 April 2021 peacefully at home. She was Born 26 September 1931 in Sumerduck, VA to Joseph and Alma Embrey. Jean is survived by three sons, Michael, Daniel and Christopher Lee and daughter-in-law Judith Lee (Michael). Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Clayton & Phillip Lee, Emily Hoiska, Jacob Scott, Lauren McCarthy, Dylan Lee, Steven & Shannon Lee; 15 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Rob Dobson; prior daughter-in-law Brenda Lee as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the oldest of 5 siblings. Surviving is one brother, Don Embrey of Harrisonburg, VA.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clinton “Snooky” Lee; her parents; 2 brothers Joe & Bruce Embrey; sister Evelyn Croushorn; daughter Marsha Scott; daughter-in-law Theresa Lee (Daniel); and prior son-in-law Michael Scott.
Jean was a dedicated homemaker and cornerstone of the immediate and extended family and friends.
Graveside and interment services will be held at Mt. Holly Baptist Church Cemetery, Remington, VA on Monday April 12, 2021 at 11AM with Rev. Peyton Embrey officiating.
Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to your cancer fighting organization of choice.
