Joan Anne Honor, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday April 27th, 2023, at Lavender Hills Assisted Living in Front Royal, VA.

Joan was born in Albany, NY on December 5, 1933 to Claire (Hedgeman) and Melvin Clark. She graduated from Albany High School and worked as a stenographer. She married George Honor in 1953. They raised 4 children in Schenectady, NY. Joan worked as a Teacher's Aide for children with disabilities. She was active in the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Joan was in the Pioneers Group affiliated with AT&T and worked on many projects over the years. Joan loved all kinds of music, Drum & Bugle Corps and parades. She had a sweet cheerful disposition and was a friend to everyone. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and caregivers.

She was preceded in death by son Stephen Honor in 1978 and husband George in 2017 as well as her sister Jeanne Powell and brothers Jack Clark and Joseph Clark . She is survived by 3 daughters, Cheryl Sullivan (Mark), Kim Devellis (Michael) and Dianne Wright (Steven) - She was also survived by her sister Karen Millington. She had 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Joan will be buried in NY with her husband and son later this year.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
