John Krauth  Brown Jr.
John Krauth Brown, Jr. passed away on November 24, 2015 at the age of 90.

Born on August 23, 1925 in Bristow, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Krauth and Alice Manuel Brown.
John was employed as an insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until he had to retire on disability in 1968. He was also a lifelong member of the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company. That was the beginning of a family tradition of volunteering, and following his footsteps was his son, John K. Brown, III; grandson, Justin O’Brien and grandson-in-law, Seth Bowie, all whom served as well.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Lois Nelson Brown; sisters, Evelyn Phibbons, Carol Hollister; brothers, Eugene Brown, Ernest Stewart Brown and son-in-law, Richard O’Brien.

He is survived by his son, John K. Brown, III and his wife, Kristin; daughter, Nancy O’Brien; 9 grandchildren, John K. Brown IV, Joshua Brown, Logan Brown, Noah Brown, Ethan Brown, Ashley Foster, Justin O’Brien, Amanda Bowie and Adelynn Burgbacher; 7 great-grandchildren, John K. Brown V, Grant Brown, Tyrus Brown, Abigail Foster, Kaitlyn Foster, Macon O’Brien, Camden Bowie, and one dear friend, Mardi Gillum.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rudy Tucker, Jr. officiating.

A reception will follow the service in the funeral home community room.

Interment will take place at a later date at Valley View Cemetery.
