Katrina Marie  Bates
Katrina Bates, 37, died December 30th, 2020 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center after a 13-year battle with Lupus.

Katrina Bates (Maiden Name Bradley) was born July 11th, 1983 in Williamsport, PA to Lisa Bradley and Manuel Baez.

Katrina had a successful 20+ year career teaching impacting many young minds at an early stage of their development with her wonderful personality leaving a lasting impression on children and parents alike. She married Tariq Bates on October 25th, 2014. She gave birth to their daughter, Leia Jean-Joanne Bates February 3rd, 2018. Katrina was an advocate of Lupus awareness.

Katrina was one of the kindest people you could ever meet with the warmest heart. She loved to travel and doing things spontaneously ensuring her family were able to take part in all her plans to ensure wonderful memories were made. She was a wonderful, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and teacher and her presence will be missed but the memory and legacy of her will live on through us and her miracle child Leia.
Katrina is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Baez.

She is survived by her husband, Tariq Bates; daughter Leia Bates; Mother Lisa Bradley; Sisters, Aisha, Shayonna, Cayenne and Jasmine; brothers, Dallas, Michael and Manny; 5 Nephews and 3 Nieces.

A memorial service will be held at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center 10001 Nokesville Road Manassas, VA on Saturday, January 30th, 2021.

Due to COVID restrictions, the memorial service will be private.
