On Friday, December 7, 2018, Kennith Curtis Johnston, 67, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at his home in Nokesville, Virginia.

Ken was born in Alexandria, Virginia on August 24th, 1951 to the late Curtis Herman Johnston and the late Bertha Elizabeth Carter.

He grew up in Manassas Park and was a 1969 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas. Ken’s first job, at the age of 15, was at J. E. Rice as a box boy. When he left 5 years later, he was running the gun counter. After leaving J. E. Rice, Ken accepted employment with the Prince William County School System in November 1971. He retired in December 2010 with 39 years of service.

He was predeceased by his mother, Bertha Stickler in January 2001 and his brother, Charles Elbert (CE) Stickler in January 2013.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 41 ½ years, Patti Russell Johnston; his son, Brian Michael Johnston and wife Kati of Locust Grove, VA and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnston of the home. He is also survived by his father, Charles A. Stickler of Keyser, WV; his brother, William A. (Billy) Stickler and wife Erin of Madison, VA; sisters, Elsie (Kitty) Hall of Leesburg, VA , and Wanda Seymore and husband James of TN.

Ken also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Lisa Russell Colgan and husband Ray of Manassas, sister-in-law Suzanne Russell Ford and husband Jimmy of Staunton, VA and brother-in-law Robert Hooe Russell of Manassas as well as numerous nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110, with Pastor Dallas Slemp officiating. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be in Manassas City Cemetery, 9317 Center Street, Manassas, VA.

After the interment, everyone is asked to return to the funeral home for a reception and continued time of fellowship in the Community Room.
