Obituary for Larry Anthony Fairfax

Larry Anthony Fairfax
Larry “Buggie” Fairfax, age 77 passed away on December 28, 2021. He had been struggling with illness since April 2021 but he lost his battle on December 28. Born on April 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Allen and Christine Fairfax.
He is survived by his brother, Leonard Fairfax of Romney, West Virginia; sister, Pam Lagundo of Manassas, Virginia; and two daughters, Tess Helmandollar and Suzie Distler of Ormond Beach, Florida. Larry also leaves behind four grandchildren, Cory Helmandollar, Lacey Gail, Tyler Helmandollar, and Rachael Distler, and four great-grandchildren.
Known as “Buggie” by family and close friends, he was a hard worker and loved to fix things. Working more than 40 years in construction, he helped to build many homes, including some for himself. He served three years in the Army and was proud of his service. He loved hanging out with his friends and cousins and in his later years spent a lot of time at the local American Legion.
A miliary ceremony with honors will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on February 10 at 12:30. A celebration of life is planned for mid-April, in the Manassas area. Friends and family are welcome at both events.
