Obituary for Lawrence Gardner Howard

Mr. Lawrence Gardner Howard, known to his family and friends as “Larry”, age 75, of Nokesville, VA, died Sunday, March 2, 2008.

Born June 29, 1932 in Alexandria, Virginia, he was the son of Bernard and Pearl Johnson Howard. On October 22, 1955 in Alexandria, he married the former Helen Inez Hoynacki, who preceded him in death on November 14, 1997.

Mr. Howard was the Owner and Operator of Howard Aluminum in Fairfax County for over 30 years. He was also known as a Cowboy Poet, an Honorary Friend of the National Zoo, and a descendent of the Cherokee Indian Tribe of Oklahoma.

Besides his loving wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Muldoon and her husband John of Lansdowne; Lisa Howard Farcas and her husband Peter of Bethesda, MD; two sons, Blair Howard and his wife Celine of Falls Church; Garth Howard and his wife Catherine of Huntingtown, MD; two sisters, Betty King of Falmouth; Patsy Newville of Cedar City, UT; two brothers, Wesley Howard of Manassas; Wayne Howard of Unionville; and three grandchildren, Chris Stevens, Colin Muldoon and Meghan Muldoon.

There will be a private Remembrance Gathering and a good time, rock and roll party held at a later date.
