Gun Smoke

After Lloyd retired, the McGuire crew continued to watch gunsmoke during lunch just as Lloyd had for years. We would all watch and remark how Lloyd was the reason we were watching which would lead to reminiscing on something funny he would say to which someone would respond how it's just not the same without Lloyd here. After a a few months watching gunsmoke was a daily routine for us and many of us were rather engrossed in the characters. Watching the show I think I understand why Lloyd liked it. The characters are tough and formidable but also kind loyal honest and loving. This reminds me Lloyd's character. He was also very funny. He was a very honest man, he did not seem inclined to live with regrets but he was stoic in taking responsibility for actions. He was non judgmental and positive when people shared their personal struggles with him More than anything else he was known for how much he loves his family! We heard many stories of his family in Manassas. He clearly loved his family more than anything. He was known to love fast cars he used the term *skeet skeet* to refer to making the tires chirp. This term is one of the lines that are commonly used when his crew talks about him. His memory is one which brings a smile each and every time for me. I will miss him.
