Mary Jo Dick passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Born in Scranton, PA on August 16th 1945, she was the daughter of late Ralph and Florence Marshall and wife of the late James “Jim” Dick, Sr.

Mary Jo is survived by her children; son James “Jamie” Dick, Jr of Manassas, VA and daughter and son-in-law Maryanne and Jason Dwyer of Bristow, VA, her grandson; Logan Dwyer, two furry grand pups Reese, and Stella, and her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Jim Bannar of The Villages, FL.

Mary Jo grew up in Scranton, PA and moved to Arlington, VA as a young girl. She moved to Manassas in 1973. She went to Washington and Lee High School and then earned her associates degree from Southern Seminary College (Southern VA University). After graduation, she began her career with the Central Intelligence Agency until her medical retirement in the early 90s. She had a passion for being involved in the community. She volunteered as a local election poll worker, a member of the Manassas Lioness Lions Club, and with SERVE. She went on to be SERVE’s Program Manager Emergency Services until her second retirement. Her biggest joys were her family, especially her beloved grandson, Logan, and her dogs, especially Jack. She loved the beach, music, reading, Jeopardy, cross stitch, crafting, and antiquing. She loved to travel. She was a strong woman who was someone always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
