Mary Elizabeth Turner, 71, of Nokesville, passed away September 7th, 2008.

Born March 1st, 1937, she was the daughter of Gordon and Verneader C. Pound Newland.

Ms. Turner was a lifelong resident of Nokesville. She worked for the Department of Defense for several years prior to her retirement, and attended the Manassas Caregiver Support Group at the Caton Merchant House. She loved animals and the country setting of the Nokesville area.

Survivors include one sister, many nieces and nephews, and her close friends and caregivers, Bob Harris and his wife Karen, Bobby Caton, Jerry Vencill, Ann Iselor, and Shirley Terry all of Nokesville; Ken Clemons of Fairfax; and just to many more to list.

Friends will be received on Sunday, September 14th, 2008 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas. Funeral Services will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hurley Short officiating.

Interment will take place in the Valley View Cemetery, Nokesville, VA., on Monday, September 15th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m.
