Obituary for Pearl Doris Patrick

Pearl Doris Patrick
It is with great sadness that the family of Pearl Doris Patrick (Pierce) announces her passing on Monday, May 8, 2018. She passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 19, 1930 in Windsor, NC to AJ and Mary Pierce and was the fourth of twelve children. Very early in life, she would assume what would be her major role as a nurturer to her younger siblings, assisting her parents as they ran a large farm. It is the spirit of family and her faith in God that guided her through life.

Pearl was a faithful and humble servant of God, first and foremost. She was an amazing and selfless mother to her six children whom she cared for with tenderness and devotion. She was the rock and the glue that held her family together through good times and bad. So tremendous was her patience and love, she even assisted in raising many of her fifteen grandchildren who remember her with great admiration. She even found the time to work with disabled children as a transportation attendant and retired from Fairfax County Public Schools at the age of 70. She was kind to all who crossed her path and no one left her house without a full belly and a feeling of love and acceptance.

She is predeceased by her parents AJ and Mary Pierce; sister, Maisie Bowman, and brothers AJ Pierce Jr, Richard Pierce, Lewis Pierce, Henry Pierce, Raleigh Pierce, and David Pierce. Her greatest heartbreak was the loss of her six year old son David Patrick nearly 60 years ago. She is also sadly predeceased by her grandson Jessie Patrick who loved her dearly.

She leaves behind brothers, Paul Pierce, Harvey Pierce, John Pierce and sister, Rose Thorne. She is also survived by sons, Les Patrick (wife Linda) and Chris Patrick (wife Dorilee) as well as daughters Tina Patrick (husband Brain), Gina Lassiter (husband Jeff), and Mary Patrick. She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with one on the way. Also remembering her with tenderness is her husband of 28 years, Harry Patrick.

Viewing will take place on Monday, May 14th from 6pm to 8pm at Baker Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd Manassas, Virginia 20110. A second visitation will be on Tuesday, May 15th at noon followed by her funeral service at 1pm also at Baker Post Funeral Home.

Interment will immediately follow at Buckhall Cemetery, 10251 Moore Dr. Manassas, Virginia.

Family will be receiving friends and family afterwards at 9109 Mulder Ct. Manassas, Virginia 20111.
