Obituary for Raymond Lewis Dombrowsky

Raymond Lewis Dombrowsky was born October 12, 1929 to Clyde and Tillie Summerfelt Dombrowsky in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn Gaines Dombrowsky.

Ray grew up in Alexandria, Virginia where he graduated from George Washington High School. He had a colorful career in the U.S. Merchant marines and the U.S. Navy. He traveled extensively and served on the U.S. Midway.

He was an accomplished carpenter and his furniture and woodworking are admired by many. After moving to Manassas, Ray retired from C&P Telephone and moved to Florida where he boasted he was retired for more years than he worked. He relocated to Manassas in 2013.

Survivors include a brother George, in California; a daughter, Nina Straight (Rusty) in West Virginia; a son, Dickie Dombrowsky (Jamie) of Manassas; two grandsons, Richard (Adrienne) and Luke and two great- granddaughters, Olivia Madison and Ava Raymond Dombrowsky in Georgia.

Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on a date to determine.
