Obituary for Rosalina Balagot Arnuco

Rosalina Balagot Arnuco
It is with great sadness that we share news of the sudden passing of the lovely Rosalina B. Arnuco on February 4th, 2023.

Rosalina, known to many as Rose, Lola (Tagalog for Grandma), or Mama Rose, was born in Pangasinan, Philippines to Antonio and Brigida Balagot on February 23rd, 1953. She graduated from the University of Pangasinan with a degree in Nutrition. The youngest of 3 children, Rose has two sisters, Paulina Mateo and Josefina Minteer.

Rose immigrated to the United States in 1977. She became a US citizen just 5 years later. She met her late husband, Lincoln Richards, while waitressing in Virginia. They were married and had a son together, Bryan Richards, born in 1980. After Lincoln's passing, Rose’s friend introduced her to her brother, Erwin Arnuco, and Rose and Erwin became penpals. Within a year, they had fallen in love and were married. They welcomed their daughter, Maygan Arnuco, in 1989. The family moved to Williston, Vermont in 1992.

Rose was a dedicated employee at IBM, where she worked until her retirement. After that, Rose provided child care services and worked at Costo for many years. Rose was a wonderful sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother, who had many friends and connections. She was extremely loving and caring and was always there if you needed her. Her smile was infectious and she had a fabulous sense of fashion and style. She loved cooking and entertaining, and you would never leave her house hungry! She had a green thumb, and could often be found tending to her garden or cooking up a feast for the family!

Rose will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Lincoln Richards, and her parents, Antonio and Brigida Balagot. She is survived by her daughter, Maygan Arnuco, her son, Bryan Richards, her granddaughter, Lauralye Richards, Erwin Arnuco, her sisters, Paulina Mateo and Josefina Minteer, and many other friends and loved ones.
