Obituary for Ryan Francis Easterly

Ryan Francis Easterly
Ryan Francis Easterly, 28, of Dumfries, passed away unexpectedly December 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 18, 1990 in Prince William County, Virginia, he was the son of Douglas and Kelly Abruzere Easterly. On June 10, 2017 in Washington, DC, he married the former Madelyn Metzger, who survives.

Ryan attended Potomac High School in Prince William, VA where he was a decorated baseball player. He continued his baseball career at Ferrum College in Roanoke, VA. Ryan could always be found on the diamond playing baseball in adult men’s baseball leagues and an avid softball player, playing for numerous teams in Prince William, Fairfax, Arlington and Stafford.

Ryan was a former diesel mechanic and a Senior Maintenance and Storm Water Management Technician for the Fairfax County Government. Ryan was a loving husband, marrying his high school love; he was a glowing father never tiring of boasting about his son. He was a loyal friend to anyone who met him. He was always ready to organize get-togethers with family and friends any chance he got. He loved his family and never let anyone forget how important they were to him. His bond with his brother Tyler and sister Morgan was immeasurable. There was never a time that Ryan didn’t kiss his mother and father good bye any time he left their presence. It has been said that Ryan “Loved Hard” and he has instilled that in anyone he has ever met.

His maternal grandmother, Marjorie Abruzere, preceded Ryan in death. Surviving besides his loving wife, Madelyn Ann Easterly of Dumfries, are one son, Nixon Easterly; his parents, Douglas and Kelly Easterly of Woodbridge; siblings, Tyler and Morgan Easterly also of Woodbridge; maternal grandfather, Ralph Abruzere of Manassas; paternal grandparents, Lowell and Loretta Easterly of Gainesville; and one half-sister, Olivia Chase of Maryland. Madelyn and Ryan are also expecting their second child in March, 2019.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. A celebration of Ryan’s life will take place on December 31, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Springs Assembly of God, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, VA with Dr. Douglas Chapman officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in the Dumfries Cemetery, Dumfries, VA.
