Obituary for Ryan Heckman

Ryan Heckman passed away on July 4, 2012 at his home.

Born November 26, 1991 in Woodbridge, Virginia, he later graduated from Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, Virginia. Ryan played baseball, basketball, and football, and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed a good game of golf. He had a great love of baseball and played since he was old enough to pick up a ball. In his freshman year of high school, Ryan was the power house of the Osbourn Park Baseball team, and was envied for his ability to hit homeruns. He was a natural leader, and had the ability to make anyone laugh in any scenario, making every situation memorable. One of his greatest qualities was his smile.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Steve and Dianna Heckman, and his brothers Ian, Trevor, and Tristen. He is also survived by his grandparents Judy and John Heckman and Sandy Dresser; and by many aunts, uncles, and five cousins. Ryan will be dearly missed by all his family and friends who loved and knew him. He now continues to live on through the vital organs he donated upon his passing.

A visitation is planned for Monday, July 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22192.

Because of Ryan’s love for the United States Marine Corps, the family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made on Ryan’s behalf to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G. Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005. 202-558-4301. www.woundedwarriorproject.org

The family has entrusted Greg Walley with Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg with the arrangements.
