Obituary

Theodore Asideu Awua, Jr. (lovingly known as Teddy) went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the age of 43 after a three year long battle with brain cancer.

Teddy was born to Theodore Asideu Awua, Sr. and Linda Carol Awua on Tuesday, May 24, 1977 in Buffalo, NY. He is the oldest of four boys.

Teddy met his wife, Marion in 1995 at Osbourn High School in Manassas, VA. They married on Thursday, July 1, 1999 and went on to have four children; Gabrielle Sarah, Emma Grace, Theodore Asideu, III (Trey), and Leah Renee. Teddy has been a devout husband and loving father. He enjoyed vacationing with family and coaching the girls’ soccer teams for years.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Teddy also spent his life sharing the gospel and his love of the Lord through song with his longtime friends in ACH Accord Ministries. The Awua family joined Word Alive Church International in 2000 under Bishop Wesley T Cherry, Sr. Throughout his life and until the very end, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.

Teddy was preceded in death by his son, Trey and his late Father-in-Law, John Wilkinson, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Marion Awua; his children, Gabrielle Sarah, Emma Grace and Leah Renee; his parents, Theodore Asideu Awua, Sr. and Linda Carol Awua; his brothers, Louis Samuel Felix Awua, Mathew Isaac Awua (and spouse, Katie) and Joseph Styman-Boudry Awua (and spouse, Thathia); his nieces and nephew, Jaelynne Wilkinson, Apani Adwoa Asiedu Awua and Joseph Styman-Boudry Awua, Jr. (JJ); his Mother-in-Law, Shelby Savin (and spouse, Bill); and his brother-in-law, John Wilkinson, Jr. (and domestic partner, Howard Pond).

In lieu of flowers and/or food, please send your well wishes to Marion and the girls at 506 Ridgecrest Ct, Stafford, VA 22554

The cemetery service will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020, 12:00 p.m. at Stonewall Memorial Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA. This will be open to family and friends.

Teddy, I have so many fond memories of us as teenagers and some as young adults. Although life has happened and our encounters became less frequent, never changed the bond that we had. You, Chris, Jason and Jay are my brothers. I appreciate having you in my life; I learned so much from you. Until we meet again Big Bro!

My sincere condolences to the family. I pray that the Lord surrounds you with comfort during this difficult time. Its so hard to believe that he is gone. I met the boys when Teddy was 6yrs. I was their first babysitter and they were the best boys. Teddy and Louis were so sweet...and they helped me with Matthew when he arrived because he was such a fat baby lol. They moved after Joseph came and i often wondered where they went. A few years ago i found them again and could not believe they now had families and wives/fiancees. I never got a chance to see Teddy in person all grown up but pictures will do (he looked the same❤). I love you Teddy. My forever little brother. Rest well Pain free. Marion you and the girls are forever in my heart. Stephanie Hanna
