Immediately following high school, Wally began his 32-year career at the Washington Gas Light Company. He retired from the Gas Company in 1990.

Wally was preceded in death by his wife Linda and by one son, Frank Vollmer. Seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Bond, Savannah Bond, Caitlyn Daige, Christian Vollmer, Colby Vollmer, Cara Vollmer, Carter Vollmer & 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella & Gunner Daige

Wally, otherwise known by his closest friends as “Buck Bond”, was always the life of the party. Wally had an endless number of dedicated and loyal friends. Wally was an avid golfer and had annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach with his Washington Gas Co. buddies as well as regular tee times at Greendale golf course in Alexandria, Virginia with his buddies Tommy, AL, Tony, Reese, Craig, Dallas, Gary & Willard. Wally had numerous fictional stories of golf scores that always exceeded reality. He always enjoyed his favorite hole, the 19th!
