Condolence: Sandy and I feel great sadness at Rita’s passing and send our condolences to all who loved her. We admired Rita and her courage, fighting spirit, and optimistic attitude throughout her long illness. Rita experienced so much joy during her final years, especially that of being with her grandchildren. What a blessing that she had that opportunity. We were fortunate to vacation with Rita and John at Deep Creek Lake a few years back and fondly recall the great time we had. We came away with so many fond memories, as we did every time we were with them and the family. Rita was a special person and we will miss her. John will miss having to call out “clear on the right” to his driver, dear Rita. Rest in Peace, dear lady. You set a high standard for all of us to follow. We are grateful to have known and loved you.

Condolence: I got to know Rita through NVSL and PVS where I always enjoyed working with her, she was an excellent mentor and was always willing to help a fellow officials. She never failed to put a smile on your face and I loved her humor. When we meet up her humor was always evident which I enjoyed. The last years has been very, very tuff, but she loved her family endless and talked with joy about you all. Rita have left us with many good memories. Life's truest happiness is found in the friendship we make along the way.

Condolence: My prayers of peace and comfort are with you as you celebrate Ms. Rita's legacy. I met her about 8 years ago on the VRE train. Ms. Rita became my accountability partner so we didn't oversleep and miss our stop. More importantly, she became my friend who prayed for me when I was going through some rough times. She was a beautiful, kind, fun-loving lady who truly loved her family; she spoke of you guys often. I feel truly blessed to have known Ms. Rita and will never forget her.

Condolence: I served as a swim official for the NVSL and PVS for about 15 tears. Rita was first at wonderful mentor as I learned. She became much more than that over time, a great friend.
