Obituary for Betty Marshall

Betty Marshall, age 91, died on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Manassas, Virginia.
Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on January 5, 1924, she was one of eight children born to the late Milovan and Danica Matijevich, of Yugoslavia.
Betty moved from Johnstown, Pa., to Washington, D.C. in 1943 to work as a beautician. She married James Marshall in July 1943 while he was stationed at Fort Meade in Md. during WWII. After retiring in 1981, they moved from Rockville, Md., to Venice, Fl., where they enjoyed golfing, beaches and the sunshine. She relocated to Manassas, Va. in 2014.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Marshall and one grandson, Christopher Marshall.

Betty is survived by her children, Robert G. Marshall of Manassas, VA, Donna M. Burnsky of Olney, MD, Pamela A. Recicar of Louisa, VA, and Paula Marshall-Nucci of Los Angeles, CA.; 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a future date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md.
