Northrop Travel

Chuck and myself were on travel for Northrop with NAVSEA to perform a certification inspection of the saturation diving system on the USS Pigeon (ASR-21). While in San Diego, Chuck procured a Mark-V diving suit, shoes (17 pounds each), and weight belt (85 pounds). But to get it home on the plane, Chuck had to put it in his luggage. It was hilarious watching Chuck try to fit the canvas & rubber diving suit into his luggage. But only the diving stuff fit into Chucks luggage (good thing they didnt have a 50# limit) the normal stuff in his luggage (like clothes) were stuffed into my luggage and carry-on trash bags! It wasnt pretty, but Chuck got it back. We talked about this event often. Chuck was a great guy & one of a kind.
