The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joseph Hakes can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Victory Soccer Coach

Joe truly was a unique, wonderful, full of stories, and very humorous man. A true delight! He joined a bunch of men and women to form the first ever coaching team for a Victory Sports Camp held at Lincoln School in Wheaton, Illinois, in 1984-85. On a hot day, he would wear a towel bandana around his head as he coached children at this all-day soccer camp. Joe loved Jesus and he wasn’t ever afraid to tell others. He will truly be missed.
